Due to the recent tornado, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services has suggested, as a precautionary measure, that the City of Wayne temporarily chlorinate the community water system.
Beginning today, Wednesday, October 9th, Water Department personnel began adding chlorine to the water and will continue to do so for 10 days until it has reached the entire system. Customers should notice a slight taste of chlorine in their drinking water for 10-15 days. There is no need for any water customers to change their normal water usage/drinking habits during this time.
